Date and time of the service
-
Service order
-
Favorite hymns or special music
-
Scripture readings
-
Family participation
-
Personal tributes or remembrances
-
Reception arrangements
-
Livestream or recording options, if available
Our pastor and staff are available to answer questions and guide you through every step of the process.
Music
Music is a meaningful part of a funeral or memorial service, offering comfort, hope, and an opportunity to reflect on God's presence during a time of loss. Whether through congregational hymns, instrumental selections, vocal solos, or recorded music, each piece is chosen to honor your loved one while celebrating the promise of God's love and eternal life.
Our music ministry is available to help you select music that reflects your loved one's faith, personality, and life story. Traditional hymns, contemporary Christian songs, and other meaningful selections may be included, as appropriate for the worship setting.
Music options may include:
-
Congregational hymns
-
Piano or organ music
-
Vocal soloists or ensembles
-
Instrumental performances
-
Recorded music (subject to church guidelines)
-
Special family-requested selections
If you have favorite hymns or songs that were especially meaningful to your loved one, we encourage you to share them during the planning process. Our music staff will work with you to create a service that is both personal and worshipful, bringing comfort to family and friends while honoring the life being remembered.

Funeral Receptions
Sharing food/drinks after a service provides family and friends an opportunity to gather, remember, and support one another.
At LUMC, our United Women of Faith assist in coordinating your reception. You will be contacted by the volunteer lead to determine your needs for the reception.
We offer coffee, lemonade, cookies, brownies and other desserts for a $1.00/person donation. We also offer a variety of colored linens for the tables and centerpieces to help bring the room together.
If you prefer to order from a caterer, please coordinate this with your Reception Coordinator.
Families may also choose to set up a Memorabilia table in the reception to display a loved one’s photos and other items.
Pastoral Care
Grief affects everyone differently. We believe no one should walk through loss alone.
Our pastor is available to provide support both prior to and following the service.
Pre-Planning Your Funeral
Many people find peace of mind by planning their funeral in advance. Pre-planning allows you to communicate your wishes, reduce stress for your loved ones, and ensure your service reflects your faith and values.
If you are interested in pre-planning, our pastoral staff would be honored to meet with you.
Columbarium Niches: As part of our ministry of remembrance, our church offers niches in our columbarium for the permanent placement of cremated remains. A columbarium provides a peaceful, sacred setting where family and friends can visit, reflect, pray, and remember loved ones within the life of the church.
Choosing a niche in the church columbarium is a meaningful way to express a lasting connection to the faith community. It serves as a place of comfort and hope, reflecting the Christian promise of resurrection and eternal life.
