Children and Family Ministries

Children’s and Family Ministry at LUMC is led by Lisa Perkins, who holds a Master’s in Education and previously served as an Elementary School teacher for ten years in Texas.

Children’s and Family Ministries are active year round, and serve infants through Grade 5. Sunday mornings, we offer Sunday School for preschool – Grade 5 from 9:45-10:45 a.m., and our nursery is available for ages 0-3.

Children are always welcome in worship services; Children’s Worship is also available for children in 3-5th grades during both services. Fellowship offerings throughout the year include gatherings and activities like movie nights, sprinkler parties, holiday celebrations, craft parties, pageants, and summer camps!

GREAT ESCAPE'S CHRISTMAS MUSIC PROGRAM

December 11th @ 6:00 p.m.

Join us in the Sanctuary to witness cuteness overload!

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

December 14th @ 9:45 a.m.

Please join us in Grant Fellowship Hall to support the children as they tell the story of Baby Jesus! A Cookie & Cocoa Reception will follow.

CAROLING AT CHERRELYN

December 19th @ 5:45 p.m.

Family Ministries will share the joy of Christmas by caroling at Cherrelyn Manor! Gather at the church 5:45 p.m. to rideshare/caravan to Cherrelyn Manor (5555 S. Elati St .), then return to LUMC for cocoa and cookies at 7:00 p.m.

MOVIE NIGHT

December 21st @ 5:00 p.m.

Family Ministries is hosting Movie Night in the Reception Hall. Pizza & popcorn will be provided! Children are invited to wear pajamas and bring their blanket and favorite stuffed animal. The library will also be an available during the movie as a quiet space for adults.

CELEBRATING BABY JESUS' BIRTHDAY

December 28th @ 9:45 a.m.

Family Ministries will celebrate the birthday of Baby Jesus in the Fellowship Hall between services from 9:45-10:45. Games, treats, and fellowship as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Epiphany Sunday

January 4th

Family Ministries will participate in a processional around the Sanctuary during the singing of the first hymn, "We Three Kings" as they follow the star.

Then between services from 9:45-10:45., we will have Pastries & Parents in the Fellowship Hall, where we'll offer games, treats, and fellowship as we celebrate the beginning of a New Year!
