Here are the announcements for the week of January 18th.
What in the World: A new sermon and discussion series focusing on the United Methodist Social Principles has begun. Discussion sessions are held Wednesdays, with in-person gatherings at 12:00 p.m. in the Reception Hall and online gatherings at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Learn more here.
Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser: That’s right: LUMC Youth begin their annual Pie-in-the-Face contest this month! Bring your dollars to the breezeway and stuff the bucket of your favorite youth and clergy. The (un)lucky winners will be pied on January 25th after the 11:00 a.m. service, so cast your votes while you can!
Justice Team MLK Celebration: Join us for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Denver "Marade,” on January 19th with our friends from St. Luke’s UMC and St. Andrew UMC. Meet at the LUMC parking lot at 9:00 a.m. to connect, enjoy a breakfast burrito, and organize carpooling. Email Tony Winger to RSVP.
Family Fellowship: On January 17th, families are welcome to meet at the church for either sledding (weather permitting) or an inside game day! We’ll gather from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Questions? Contact Lisa Perkins.
Terrific Tuesday: Our next Terrific Tuesday will take place on January 20th at 12:00 p.m. and will feature Hank Wyeno’s program on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Please call the church office to make a reservation by Thursday, January 15th so we can plan the amount of food.
Justice Team Meeting: Please join us for our next Justice Team Meeting on January 25th from 12:10 - 1:30 p.m. in the Reception Hall. Bring a snack or lunch, and a friend.
Soul Food Sunday: Youth Ministry families, mark your calendars for an evening of family, fellowship, and shared dinner. This Soul Food Sunday will take place on January 25th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will center around our January theme of “Illumination.”
Silent Auction: Now collecting items for our Youth Silent Auction on February 22nd! We’re accepting new items, gift cards, and service certificates to help fund our Youth Missions. Questions? Contact Hannah Lolley.

HAAT Collection: Thank you for the amazing outpouring of support in the form of shelf-stable food items for the homeless. For the next few weeks, our collection will focus on adult sweatpants (any size), adult gloves (any size), and tea and coffee to serve our neighbors on cold voucher days.
Altar Flowers: The sign-up calendar for altar flowers for 2026 is now available, with spots open in January and beyond. Sign up in the binder at the Welcome Station or by contacting the church office. Make sure to leave a phone number when you sign up. Thank you for your help in providing a beautiful setting for worship.
Baroque Chamber Orchestra Concert: On February 1st at 2:30 p.m. five musicians from the Baroque Chamber Orchestra present "Now and Then," a time-travelling program of virtuoso chamber music from the 18th and 21st centuries. All are welcome, and admission is free!
