Here are the announcements for the week of January 25th.
What in the World: A new sermon and discussion series focusing on the United Methodist Social Principles has begun. Discussion sessions are held Wednesdays, with in-person gatherings at 12:00 p.m. in the Reception Hall and online gatherings at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Learn more here.

Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser: Thank you for all of your support for this youth fundraiser! This Sunday our (un)lucky winners will get pied in the face! Join us in the Fellowship Hall after the 11:00 a.m. service.

Justice Team Meeting: Please join us for our next Justice Team Meeting this Sunday from 12:10 - 1:30 p.m. in the Reception Hall. Bring a snack or lunch, and a friend.

Soul Food Sunday: Soul Food Sunday is this Sunday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will center around our January theme of “Illumination.” Youth Ministry families, we welcome you to join us for an evening of family, fellowship, and shared dinner.

Baroque Chamber Orchestra Concert: On February 1st at 2:30 p.m. five musicians from the Baroque Chamber Orchestra present "Now and Then," a time-travelling program of virtuoso chamber music from the 18th and 21st centuries. All are welcome, and admission is free!
​
Youth Sunday: Mark your calendars for February 22nd when our church services will be led by LUMC Youth. Plan to stay for lunch, as the services will be followed by Youth Ministries’ Catch the Spirit Café and Silent Auction. All proceeds will benefit Youth summer mission trips.

Silent Auction: Youth are accepting donations of new or like-new items, gift cards, sporting event tickets, condo stays, etc. for the upcoming Silent Auction. Please label any donations with “Youth Sunday” and drop them off in the main office.

Lenten Journey: The season of Lent begins forty days before Easter with Ash Wednesday on February 18th. On the following Wednesday evenings from February 25th through March 25th, all are invited to an evening meal (5:00-6:00 p.m.) and discussion led by Pastor Chris (6:00-7:00 p.m.) in Grant Fellowship Hall.

HAAT Collection: Thank you for the amazing outpouring of support in the form of shelf-stable food items for the homeless. For the next few weeks, our collection will focus on adult sweatpants (any size), adult gloves (any size), and tea and coffee to serve our neighbors on cold voucher days.
​
Dental Material Recycling: Green Team and Children’s Ministry invites you to keep dental care materials out of landfills. We are accepting used Crest, Oral-B, & Fixodent oral care products for recycling. The collection box is located in the breezeway.
​
F.E.L.L.O.W.s.: The men of LUMC are invited to join Friends Eating Lunch Locally On Wednesdays. On January 28th, the group will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Old Santa Fe Grill.
