Outreach Ministries
Outreach Ministries at LUMC work to make an impact beyond the walls of our church. They include our International, National, and Local Missions, including our Green Team and Justice Team.
Missions
The LUMC Missions team focuses on human needs beyond the local Denver area boundaries including worldwide needs.
International Missions
Littleton United Methodist Church has had close ties with Ganta United Methodist Hospital in NE Liberia for over 15 years. Our current covenant relationship is with Missionary Priscilla Jaiah (pictured right). Priscilla is the Superintendent at Ganta Mission Station. Bibles and hymnals no longer used by our congregation are now being used at the Ganta Mission Station, Liberia, in their church and chapel.

LUMC has also supported the United Methodist Church in Bopolu, Liberia. In 2014 our LUMC congregation raised money for a well at their newly established church and school.
National Missions
LUMC Adult Mission teams traveled to UMCOR West Depot in Salt Lake City for 10 consecutive years, assembling school and hygiene kits needed throughout the United States for disaster relief.
Mission work teams have traveled to Alamosa, CO the last three years to work at La Puente Home. La Puente is a nonprofit organization serving Colorado’s San Luis Valley by providing food, shelter and advocacy for the homeless and community members in crises.
Local Missions
Our local missions consist of several subcommittees devoted to bettering our community. We host and organize with several sister-ministries to make a greater impact.
Church & Society
The work of the Church & Society Committee promotes outreach locally as a Community of Neighbors building relationships, and recruiting volunteers to recognize and serve needs in our community.
Some of our activities include:

-
Providing after-school snacks to students at the North Littleton Promise
-
Preparing a hot dish for distribution by HAAT Force
-
Tutoring kids at LUMC with Whiz Kids
-
Collecting diapers for Love, INC
-
Providing Christmas gift bags for seniors at Cherrelyn Care Center
-
Participating in our yearly Ready, Set, School backpack supply drive for Integrated Family Community Services
Current Opportunities
Diaper Drive
Twice a year we help out families of Love, INC. with their diaper supply. Are you willing to add a box of diapers to your shopping list and bring it to church March 8th or 15th? Our local families will be especially grateful! Place donations in the diaper box in the breezeway.

Ongoing Collections
While we continue to collect food items, sweatpants, underwear, and gloves for HAAT Force, we are also collecting with sleeping bags, blankets, men’s jeans, belts, shoes, sweaters, and donations for Giving Heart (4358 S. Broadway). Collection bins are located in the breezeway of the church.
