Summer Worship at LUMC

Welcome to worship here at Littleton United Methodist! We make space for everyone to worship with us, and invite you to make LUMC your church home. Our Sunday worship is done in a “traditional” style featuring hymns, prayers, and a relevant message. The sacrament of Holy Communion is offered the first Sunday of every month.

Summer Worship Times

7:35 AM Silent Centering Prayer Service

Our Centering Prayer Service takes place in the LUMC Chapel and includes a chance to connect, a short reading, and a scripture reading, followed by 20 minutes of Centering Prayer and a closing prayer.  All are invited to join us to explore and learn more about Centering Prayer and to experience in community this contemplative practice rooted in early Christianity. You may join us in our LUMC Chapel or online. Contact Marilyn Wells for more information.

8:30 AM Informal Service

This 30-minute worship experience will take place in the Chapel and feature Holy Communion. It will be interactive and feature some alternative ways to kick off the sabbath with God and one another.

10:30 AM Service

This service is also done in a "traditional" style and features a selection of hymns, prayers, and spiritual messages shared by our ministry. While our Adult Chancel Choir is featured for most of the year, summertime features our walk-in “Summer Choir," which is open to all. Communion is offered the first Sunday of every month.

Service Live Stream

Every week in the summer, we livestream our 10:30 AM service. You can tune in live or even watch later in the week!

Current Sermon Series

Joyful Anyway

“How are you?”
Most of us aren’t entirely honest when someone asks us that question. It would just take too long to give our real answer! Because life is messy. We may feel decent, but there is that nagging thing. And that other thing. And that health issue you can’t forget. There’s just always something. Yet, joy can bubble up even in the midst of it all.

Kate Bowler takes on that tension in her new book, Joyful, Anyway, which will be the theme material for Pastor Chris’s sermon series beginning June 14th. We Christians often put on a brave face, covering up our struggles. Bowler has a gift for encouraging us to lean into our real lives and authentic selves. We need not apologize for how we’re doing, whether upbeat or not. If you or someone you know is struggling–and if you have before or figure you may again–this could be an encouraging series.

Children at LUMC

We are delighted to have children at our services and as a part of our faith community. Our weekly services include a Children's Message, and children are invited to move to the Children's Ministry area for Children's Church afterwards (they are also welcome to remain in the service with their families if that is preferred). We also have a nursery is available for infants (up to 2 years) throughout the morning. Sundays also offer Sunday School, and our dedicated Children's ministry is full of activities and fun faith opportunities!

Music at LUMC

Led by Dr. David Kates, LUMC offers a robust musical program that encourages and nurtures musicians of all ages and experience levels to praise God with joyful sounds!
