The mayor and his town council are holding a hoedown in honor of Daisy, but this celebration is tap-dancing with trouble when the infamous Bullmoose Brothers arrive on the scene. Will these yahoos looking for a showdown be out-danced by Daisy? Can the mysterious Widow Astaire shed any light on the situation? And finally, who will win the pie baking contest? Because if it’s not the mayor’s wife, he may be sleeping in the barn!"

Get Involved There are so many ways to participate at LUMC! From joining one of our vital committees or participating in Sunday Service, there is something for everyone! Participate in Sunday Worship Become an Usher LUMC Ushers are the first persons to greet congregants and guests when they enter the Sanctuary for Sunday Worship. Ushers are available for any general assistance and pass out bulletins, collect offering, and assist with Communion. Ushering is a great way to get involved and meet people and play an important part of ensuring Sunday Worship is an excellent experience for all. If you are interested in ushering, contact Harvey Lee. Become an Acolyte (Children) The acolytes serve an important ceremonial role in our Sunday services. By lighting the candles before service and extinguishing them at the end, they symbolize bringing the light of Christ into the church and taking it out as the members leave to go perform God’s work. Additionally, acolytes help our ushers collect the offering. Generally, each acolyte is expected to support 1-2 services per month, and families are asked to provide their availability for scheduling. If your child is interested in becoming an acolyte, contact Lisa Perkins . Become a Choir Member Our Chancel Choir sings throughout the 11:00 a.m. service, leading the congregation in that week's hymns. No audition is required, and practice happens once a week. Adult Ministries Dedicated to the adults at LUMC, our Adult Ministries offer a chance to take a deeper dive into your faith. If you are looking for opportunities to connect and serve outside of study groups and educational classes, please contact the church office to discuss your involvement! Adult Education at LUMC What in the World Sermon Discussion Group What does the United Methodist Church say about the hot button issues of our time? How does a worldwide denomination go about saying these things? What if I don’t agree with everything the UMC says about everything? Methodists all the way back to John Wesley in the 1700s have had strong opinions about how the gospel looks when lived out in the world. A formal document called the Social Creed was written in 1908, morphed into the Social Principles in 1972, and a version of the latter was adopted in 2024 for a new era in the United Methodist Church. Beginning Sunday, January 11th, Pastor Chris will preach a sermon series rooted in the Social Principles as they now stand. The following Wednesday, January 14th, a related discussion series will begin, with two sessions each week. These are important conversations, and Pastor Chris wants to make room for as many as possible to join in. They’ll also happen ahead of the sermon on each topic so he can incorporate insights from Wednesday on Sundays (you don’t need to attend both in person and online, unless you want to). To read ahead, click here to access the Social Principles . That page provides links to other good information about who we are as United Methodists, too. Those three areas include: (1) the Bible and Topics of Theology, (2) Social Issues and (3) Personal Interests and Growth. In addition, periodic socials such as potluck dinners and BBQ’s are hosted by members of the class. All are welcome. Friends in Faith The Friends in Faith class meets in Room 204 (upstairs above the stage) from 9:45-10:45 a.m. This group includes a wide age range of couples and singles, many with older children s well as aging parents.
